Connecting to the Litebox at USC/Norris

Apple Menu CT images at USC Norris are downloaded via a DECnet connection from the Siemens Somatom Plus-S CT scanner to a Litebox station located in the Radiation Oncology department. The Litebox is a circa 1991 Macintosh Quadra 700 computer with an upgraded hard drive. It is physically located in the treatment planning room. To transfer a set of patient images to your planning computer you will make an Appletalk network connection to the Litebox, copy the images, and then disconnect from the Litebox.

To make a new network connection from your Mac to the Litebox, select Chooser under the Apple menu.
